Spinning Balloons – Defy Gravity with Floating
This experiment is about air pressure. It investigates and explains what happens when air moves fast.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1
Blow up six balloons
2
Fold a tape to form double sided tape and use it to stick two balloons together.
3
Repeat step two until all the balloons are joined and formed a circle.
Observations
When I blow fast moving air on the balloons, it creates low pressure. The high pressure around the balloons push them back into the stream of air and keep them floating.
Hypothesis
If ....
Conclusion
Fast moving air creates low pressure and slow moving air creates high pressure. The difference in the pressure created by the moving air makes the balloons spin and keep the ball floating and defying gravity.
